Ian Kenny Framing is a family owned picture framing business operating from Hamilton and Larkhall, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The first retail outlet was opened as 'Dial-a-Frame' in Larkhall in 1989, although Ian had been framing pictures since the summer of 1976. He quickly established a reputation for quality work, and went on to open the Gallery in Hamilton in 1992.
In Larkhall, you'll find a fully insured, dedicated framing workshop where the public are welcome to speak to the framer who will be doing their work.
In Hamilton, there is always a qualified framer on hand to speak to, so you are welcome to organise your framing here if you want.
At Ian Kenny Framing, there are three qualified, professional picture framers who will take care of your artwork - Ian, Andrew and Craig. Between us, we have around 70 years combined experience, so there is nothing much we haven't come across before.
We are proud to be Accredited Professional Framers who are committed to Continual Professional Development. The Accreditation - GCF(APF) - is bestowed by the Fine Art Trade Guild, which has been in existence for over a hundred years, and oversees standards for the Art & Framing industry.
We frame for many discerning clients who specifically travel from Stonehouse, Strathaven, East Kilbride, Glasgow, Edinburgh and even further afield!
Conservation and preservation of artwork, along with correct handling methods is extremely important, and Ian Kenny Framing became one of the first in the area to actively promote the use of quality conservation materials for use in framing.
In 1997, Ian sat the then new Fine Art Trade Guild "Commended Framer" exam, and passed with flying colours - making him one of the first qualified framers in Scotland. The GCF scheme provides the UK's only recognised framing qualification.
Ian has fully supported the scheme, and has been the Guild Examiner in Scotland since 1999. He is currently Master (Chairman) of the Fine Art Trade Guild, which is the body responsible for setting standards for the Art and Framing industry.
