This Egyptian Papyrus was brought in by a client who did a lot of research, and was concerned about the artwork being mishandled when framing. In the end she decided to come to us on the strength of our website examples, and work practices.
When working with rough edged papers like this papyrus, we favour using a float mount method to make a feature of the imperfect rough edges. The design choice the client made, using black mounts, and a black and gold frame really makes the artwork pop. The client was over the moon with the end result.
This project was completed to Fine Art Trade Guild Level 2 standard, and featured techniques from the following GCF Advanced modules:
- Mount Design and Function
- Conservation Framing
