This Lady in Red Dress cross stitch on evenweave shows how creative we can get when designing with our computerised mount cutter. Shapes that are near impossible to achieve when cut by hand, like the outline of the flowing dress, can be achieved with a bit of CAD work.
Like all of our textile work, there was no tape, adhesive or staples used to fix the fabric. We support fabric over archival quality board with either rustless pins, or by hand lacing.
This project was completed to Fine Art Trade Guild Level 2 standard, and featured techniques from the following GCF Advanced modules:
- Textile Framing
- Conservation Framing
- Mount Design and Function
