When our client brought in two sets of military service medals and tartan fabric for framing, we knew it would be a unique project that required some creative problem solving. While we have done numerous medal framing projects in the past, incorporating such a heavily patterned fabric as a backing presented a new challenge.
After careful consideration, we decided to treat the tartan fabric like any other piece of textile work and pin it to a support board. This provided a sturdy backing for the medals to be mounted on. From there, we proceeded just like we would with any other medal framing project.
We were pleased with the final result, particularly how the suedette top mounts complemented the tartan backing. The combination of the medals and fabric made for a truly beautiful piece.
What’s more, the client was also delighted with the final product. We were able to provide them with two unique and personalized framed pieces that they can treasure for years to come.
We take great pride in our ability to creatively design custom framing solutions. This project was no exception, and we were happy to provide a quality product that exceeded our client’s expectations.
