Photo +Print Service
We can help! In most cases we are able to fix your damaged photo for you. We don’t use ‘automated’ software – this can often remove or blur over important parts of the picture. Instead, we take our time to make sure that the damage is repaired, as perfectly as possible.
Early generation colour photos were notoriously unstable, and you will probably find they have now lost their once vibrant colour. They are fading away – but we can help here as well. We can restore your fading photos to their original condition. Once again, we don’t use automated ICE technology – it’s like painting a room with a spray gun.
After all, there is still nothing better than a trained eye – and we have been dealing with colour and images for over forty years.
We use fully licenced copies of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. They are the best in the business, and we think they deserve to be paid for.

High quality, colour profiled digital printing service
Large Format Printing
For larger than normal printing, we have a digital wide-format printer. It’s capable of printing on media up to 42″ wide, with the length only limited by the size of the media roll (usually 50 – 100m).
This means we don’t have to crop a larger image to ‘fit onto A3 paper’ – a practice which can return some pretty unsightly results.
We don’t use the cheaper and fairly unstable water based dye ink in our machine, but prefer the more expensive, and much longer lasting pigment ink.
Pigment ink is much more resistant to fading than dye based ink, and will return results which are regularly quoted as being good for the next 80 – 100 years.
Our printer is by HP, and we use always use genuine HP Vivera ink – never a generic replacement. It’s not worth the gamble.
Colour Profiling
It’s important that colour is rendered correctly throughout the whole process, so we work with icc profiled and regularly calibrated scanner, monitors and printer.
Printing and stretching a premium grade photo-canvas
Even with modern digital printing facilities, there’s still the need for traditional craftsmanship to produce a quality finished item, as you’ll see in this short video.
Printing media : Photographic paper, Fine Art Paper & Canvas
Types of Printing Media
We use genuine branded media, and can help you decide which is best for you.
On photo paper, we can print up to 42″ wide, and our preference is to use a satin finish.
We can also print onto premium quality canvas, which gives a really smart, contemporary finish to your special photo. The canvas can be supplied rolled or stretched ready to frame. The choice is yours.
All of our canvasses are varnished by hand, to give protection from scuffing and UV light. This is rarely done by the larger commercial or online print services.
On Fine Art Paper, you have the choice of Hahnemühle German Etching (320gsm) paper, or Photorag (300gsm) paper. These papers are suitable for producing top quality, Limited Edition fine art prints.
We also stock a heavyweight 180gsm Canon poster paper, suitable for producing window posters, and in store display prints. These can be supplied rolled or mounted onto firm card.
