The XKSS was originally made by Jaguar as a road-going conversion of the Le Mans-winning D-type, which was built from 1954-1956 and re-launched in a very small series in 2016. Steve McQueen, American actor and avid motorcycle and race car enthusiast, owned an original Jaguar XKSS for personal use and it is now on exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California.
