These keys are from the Abbaye de Daoulas in Finistere, Brittany. Ian brought them back from his summer holiday, thinking that they would make an excellent display item for our Hamilton Branch.
A lot of design went in to this one. It was made up of two rustic, Cuban inspired, ‘Havana’ frames, on top of a third frame, backed on to a suedette mount. Clients would often notice them when they were having framing done. This was until a client loved them so much that he just had to have them, and bought them to gift to his wife.
This project was completed to Fine Art Trade Guild Level 2 standard, and featured techniques from the following GCF Advanced modules:
- Mount Design and Function
- Conservation Framing
