We recently had the pleasure of working on a stunning piece of artwork brought in by one of our clients – ‘The Adult Dancer’ by Elspeth Lamb. As an artist proof, this piece was already a special treasure, but it was made even more exceptional with the right framing choice.
When it comes to artwork on paper, float mounting can be a great option if the paper is thick enough. In this instance, the client was looking for just that, so we got right to work and surrounded the artwork with a 2400 micron top mount adorned with a V-groove. This technique not only added a layer of protection for the delicate artwork, but it also enhanced the appearance of depth and dimension.
Now, let’s talk about the frame. We have to admit, we aren’t always fans of white frames, but in this case, it was the perfect complement to the piece. The wood-grained white frame paired with the white mount made for a truly stunning presentation. And to top it off, our client also opted for specialist UV filtering anti-reflective glass, ensuring that this piece will withstand the test of time and maintain its beauty for years to come.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with how this piece turned out, and the client was equally pleased. Seeing a satisfied customer give positive feedback is what makes us love what we do. If you have a cherished piece of artwork that deserves some extra attention, come see us at either of our framing workshops and let us show you what we can do!
